(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) Kyo june 04 (qna) - tokyo stocks rose wednesday with the topix extending its winning streak to a 10th trading day supported by investors' hopes for the japanese government's upcoming economic growth strategy.
the 225-issue nikkei stock average ended up 33.71 points or 0.22% from tuesday at 15067.96 while the broader topix index of all first section issues on the tokyo stock exchange finished 5.36 points or 0.44% higher at 1233.95 according to japan's (kyodo) news agency.
the topix's gain for the 10th straight day marked its longest rally since july 2009.
major gainers included steel insurance and communication issues. (qna)
