Voting for S. Korea's Local Elections Begins


(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) Oul june 04 (qna) - voting for the local elections began in south korea on wednesday at 13600 polling stations nationwide korea's (kbs world) reported.

the polls will close after which the votes will be counted by more than 100000 people at more than 250 counting centers.

preliminary election results are expected to be announced wednesday.



after a record high voter turnout for the two-day early voting period speculation is high on whether the overall voter turnout will surpass 60%.

a total of 3952 people will be elected into office. the number includes 17 provincial governors and metropolitan mayors 17 education superintendents 226 heads of small cities and counties and 3687 city and provincial councilors. (qna)
