(MENAFN - Khaleej Times) Andhra pradesh chief minister-designate n chandrababu naidu has invited telangana chief minister k chandrasekhar rao for his swearing-in ceremony at guntur on june 8 setting aside the bitterness over not being invited for the latter?s oath-taking ceremony at the raj bhavan in hyderabad on monday.
naidu called up kcr as the telangana chief minister and telangana rashtra samithi (trs) president is known and congratulated him after he took charge of the new state’s administration and invited him for the swearing in ceremony to be held near guntur.
naidu and kcr are bitter political adversaries and have not been on talking terms for some time now. according to telugu desam party sources the seemandhra chief minister-in-waiting would also invite ysr congress chief y s jaganmohan reddy who is his main political opponent in the residuary state. union ministers national leaders and chief ministers of various states including tamil nadu west bengal goa odisha rajasthan and madhya pradesh have also been invited by naidu through personal letters.
speaking to reporters at ntr bhavan the party headquarters in hyderabad naidu said: “i hope my invitation to chandrasekhar rao will be seen as the first step towards the two states working together for overall development. i also told chandrasekhar rao that i hoped telangana would develop under his leadership.”
