the kerala police have launched a 24-hour telephone helpline for non-resident keralites (nrks).
the helpline has been opened at the nri cell in the police headquarters here with the primary objective of speedily disposing the nrks’ complaints. the service can be accessed calling telephone numbers 0471-2721547/2729685/2724890/2722768. a senior official at the nri cell told the khaleej times that the families of the nrks in the state can also avail the service to lodge complaints on any matters concerning them or their families in the country. they can also email their complaints to <mailto:spnri.pol?kerala.gov.in>spnri.pol?kerala.gov.in.
he said that the nri cell will take immediate action on the complaints received at the helpline. issues requiring police action will be referred to the concerned police station. the facility was introduced on the directions of home minister ramesh chennithala. the nrks contact the cell on any problem they or their families face in the country. apart from this nrks can also directly write to the director general of police senior officers and station house officers. their telephone numbers and email ids have been provided in the police website <http://www.keralapolice.org/>www.keralapolice.org.
