after hiring a new coach al jazira have got down to bolstering their squad with reinforcements as they mount another assault on the arabian gulf league and other competitions in the coming season. ‘the spiders’ who hired respected belgian eric gerets as their coach to replace walter zenga are now seeking al ahli’s ismail al hammadi and al nasr’s habib al fardan. al jazira have made formal offers to al ahli and al nasr for the services of striker ismail al hammadi and midfielder habib al fardan the club said on tuesday.

the club also confirmed it on the their official twitter account with two separate tweets which said that they had bid for habib al fardan and ismail al hammadi.

al jazira are waiting for a response from al ahli and al nasr.

ismail al hammadi is a key figure at al ahli and also the uae national team. the 25-year-old striker who began his career with al ahli in 2007 played a massive role in al ahli winning the arabian gulf super cup the arabian gulf cup and the arabian gulf league. al hammadi also helped al ahli reach the president’s cup final which they lost to al ain.

al hammadi won the emirati player of the year award at the arabian gulf league awards this season. al hammadi has made 53 appearances for al ahli. he was instrumental in the uae winning the gulf cup last year when he scored the match-winner against iraq in bahrain. al hammadi has made 51 appearances for the uae national team since his debut in 2008.

al hammadi is currently in switzerland for a training camp with the uae squad.

meanwhile habib al fardan who began his career in 2009 is a vital cog at al nasr. he has also represented the uae national team. al fardan’s contract with al nasr is till the end of 2015 and would be up in the market during the january transfer window. reports said that al jazira are looking to buy the player or even take him on loan.
