(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) Moroccan King congratulated on Tuesday the Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, and expressed his support and that of the Moroccan government to ensure the success of national reconciliation and resolution of the just Palestinian cause. For his part, the Palestinian president thanked the Moroccan leader for his efforts to defend the Palestinian cause, safeguard the religious and civilizational identity of the city of Al-Quds and support the resistance of its inhabitants. Meanwhile, France considered the formation of a Palestinian national reconciliation government under President Mahmoud Abbas a step toward implementing reconciliation agreement signed last April 23rd. French foreign ministry spokesman Romain Nadal said in a press conference that France remains committed to holding legislative and presidential elections on all Palestinian territories. Nadal added that his country is ready to cooperate with the Palestinian government as long as it rejects violence, commit to peace, and respect to signed agreement, including recognizing Israel. The spokesman added that his country received assurances from Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas in this regard. In London, the British government welcomed the formation of a new Palestinian government headed by Prime Minister Rami Hamdallah and included ministers from Gaza Strip. "We welcome yesterday's announcement on the formation of a new interim technocratic government for the Occupied Palestinian Territories," Foreign Secretary William Hague said. "Reuniting Gaza and the West Bank under a government committed to peace is a necessary condition for resolving the Israel-Palestinian conflict," Hague added. "We have made clear that our continued support to the new government will rest on its commitment to the principle of non-violence, and an acceptance of all previous agreements and obligations, including Israel's legitimate right to exist," Hague said. "We now look to the new government to demonstrate these commitments through its actions as well as its words," Hague added. In Moscow, Russia welcomed the formation of Palestinian government, expressing readiness to cooperate with it. The Russian foreign ministry said in a statement that the formation of a Palestinian unity government comes as a result of extensive efforts exerted by the Palestinian leadership, in both Hamas and Fatah movements.
