Qatar- KPMG holds meet on family businesses

(MENAFN- The Peninsula) KPMG's Middle East and South Asia (MESA) steering group for family business and enterprise met on May 29, 2014 in Manama, Bahrain to review and advance the support that the company can offer to help develop private enterprise and family businesses across the region. Yacoub Hobeika, KPMG in Qatar's lead partner on business and enterprise said: "KPMG have identified that family businesses and private enterprises are a key growth area in Qatar. Over 90 percent of companies in the GCC fall into this sector, so it's essential for us to build strong relationships with business owners and entrepreneurs. Working with growing businesses in Qatar is extremely rewarding - enabling us to share the knowledge and years of experience that our staff have." By coming together as a MESA group, locally based offices were able to discuss the key challenges facing the sector in each market as well as to learn from each other and share best practice. Christophe Bernard KPMG's Head of Family Business and Enterprise for Europe, Middle East, South Asia and Africa also attended the meeting to share progress and thinking from further afield. KPMG already provides audit, tax and advisory services to many family run businesses and private enterprises.
