Qatar- Ministry signs QR89m deals for Civil Defence vehicles


(MENAFN- The Peninsula) The Logistics Department at the Ministry of Interior has signed contracts with Al Hamad Trading Est. and Fahad Trading and Contracting Company for 39 specialised vehicles and equipment to add more capacity to the fleet of rapid intervention vehicles of Civil Defence. The deals were signed by the Director of Logistics Department Brigadier Engineer Hisham Ibrahim Al Qusaibi and Deputy Chairman of Fahad Trading and Contracting Sheikh Fahad bin Mohammed Al Thani and Sales and Marketing Manager of Al Hamad Est. K T K Mohammed. The Director of the Logistics Department at the General Directorate of Civil Defence, Lt. Col. Hussain Ibrahim Al Asmakh and Maj. Khamis Saif Al Mansouri, Procurement Officer from the Logistics Department were present. Brigadier Al Qusaibi said the contracts have been signed as part of developments at the General Directorate of Civil Defence, so that it can fulfil its role with high technology and keep pace with the construction boom in the country, as many new Civil Defence centres have opened across the country. He said contracts were signed after tendering process. The supply of the vehicles will be completed in phases lasting 16 months. Maj. Al Mansouri said Al Hamad Est will supply 24 rapid intervention vehicles for QR59m while Fahad Trading & Contracting will supply 15 vehicles and machineries worth QR30m. The contracts included three years' warranty and 10 years' after-sales service.
