Qatar- QA sponsors special CNN coverage

(MENAFN- The Peninsula) Qatar Airways, the official host of the 70th AGM of IATA, is embarking on an exclusive global sponsorship campaign with CNN. Qatar's national carrier will be endorsing an editorial theme week 'Across the Skies: 100 Years of Commercial Flight', highlighted by the global broadcaster. Throughout the week of the ongoing 70th International Air Transport Association (IATA) Annual General Meeting and World Transport Summit, Qatar Airways will be sponsoring the editorial theme week. Coverage will feature as daily segments in CNN International's 'Quest Means Business' - which will also be broadcast from Doha at points during the week - and on CNN US output. The segments, fronted by CNN's Aviation Expert Richard Quest and correspondents Jonathan Mann and Isa Soares, will celebrate the 100th anniversary of commercial aviation - highlighting the milestones, iconic moments and transformations that gave rise to today's vast aviation network. Reports will span subjects such as key moments in aviation history and looking at planes of the future. "We are delighted to extend our long-standing commercial relationship with Qatar Airways for this exciting editorial project," said Katerina Tornari, Account Director EMEA, CNN International. "This theme week of compelling coverage will be particularly powerful as it coincides with the most prestigious event in the aviation industry calendar and follows the successful opening of Hamad International Airport (HIA). A combination of high-quality content and an engaged and relevant global audience will deliver a fantastic campaign for Qatar Airways that will amplify and drive more value from its prestigious position as this year's IATA host." "Qatar Airways is delighted to be associated with CNN for this global sponsorship campaign as it is the ideal vehicle to showcase this year's IATA AGM," said Qatar Airways CEO, Akbar Al Baker. "This year represents a period of significant development for Qatar Airways, with the recent move to our state-of-the-art HIA and the continued expansion of our young and rapidly growing fleet of aircraft. As such, hosting the IATA AGM in the 100th year of commercial aviation represents the perfect opportunity for us to showcase Qatar and our importance as a global aviation hub."
