Indonesia's inflation rate hits 7.32 percent in May


(MENAFN) Indonesian consumer price index (CPI) quickened slightly in May led by foods prices pickups, allowing the central bank to keep implementing a tight monetary policy, Xinhua reported. The inflation in May stood at 7.32 percent, rising from 7.25 percent at the previous month, the Indonesian national statistics bureau announced. "The prices of processed foods and beverage, tobacco and transport rose in May," head of the bureau said in a press conference. On a monthly basis, inflation rate in the country rose to 0.16 percent in May, after falling 0.02 percent in April, he said.
