(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) No nigeria june 02 (qna) - at least 40 people have reportedly been killed in a bombing at a football pitch in northeast nigeria.
the explosion in the town of mubi adamawa state appeared to target fans walking across the field and heading home after watching a local match.
"there has been a bomb explosion at a football field this evening and so far more than 40 people have been killed" said an officer.
adamawa is one of three areas in the northeast which has been under a state of emergency for over a year as nigeria's military tries to crush the extremist uprising.
however no-one has yet said they carried out the latest attack. (qna)
