Qatar- Al Jazeera English signs veteran Asia correspondent


(MENAFN- The Peninsula) Leading Asia correspondent Adrian Brown has signed with Al Jazeera English as its China Correspondent, based in Beijing. Seen on Australian screens for over 20 years, Adrian is one of the most experienced Asia correspondents, covering many of the defining moments in recent history in the region and globally. "Adrian has a breadth of experience and consistent insightful reporting on complex issues in China, the region and globally. He is an exceptional talent and a great fit with our reporting style" said Al Anstey, Managing Director, Al Jazeera English. In recent years, Adrian has worked for Australian networks, including as Asia Correspondent for Channel 7, and contributor to SBS' Dateline programme. He has reported extensively on China, on economic and development issues as well as events such the Sichuan earthquake. His 2010 report on child kidnapping in China earned him an Amnesty International Human Rights Award. Adrian previously reported for Channel Nine on the conflict in Iraq and Afghanistan, as well as political turmoil in India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Indonesia and East Timor. He has been instrumental in Australian reporting on the war in Afghanistan, revolutions in Egypt and Libya, Haiti's earthquake, and South Africa for the 2010 Soccer World Cup.
