Indonesia's trade to swing to deficit in April

(MENAFN) The Indonesian central bank governor said that his country's trade performance was predicted to swing to deficit in April, led by increasing import and falling export amid weakened demand, Xinhua reported. According to the national statistics bureau, the country posted a surplus of USD673.3 million in March, as shipment of palm oil jumped up to Japan and China following rising demand, following a surplus of USD785.3 million in February. Indonesia's import increased by 11 percent on month, while its export value declined due to lower price as the global demand for the country's main export commodities such as coal and palm oil was weakening, the governor added.
