(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) Kuwait's Al-Rahma International Charity has distributed financial and medical aid to Syrian refugees in various areas of Lebanon. Speaking to KUNA, a charity official said financial aid has been handed out to a total of 800 Syrian families, in addition to aid to Syrian students. Nasser Al-Dabous, the head of the Kuwaiti charity delegation, said it is the 147th aid convoy sent by Kuwait to Syrian refugees in Lebanon. "We are doing our best to deliver basic humanitarian aid to those who are in dire need of help in Lebanon," he said, voicing hope that such Kuwaiti aid could contribute to easing out the impacts of the humanitarian crisis of Syrian refugees in Lebanon. Recent statistics show that Lebanon hosts over one million Syrian refugees. Kuwait had pledged to provide USD 500 million for Syrian refugees, 50 million of which was offered by the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development (KFAED), as a grant for countries affected by the influx of Syrian refugees.
