Iran Amb. touts His Highness Amir's Tehran tour


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) Iranian Ambassador to Kuwait Ali Anayati on Saturday lauded His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah's visit to Tehran on Sunday as a significant step in bilateral relations that date back to over half a century. He said in a release His Highness the Amir's visit comes at a critical time and amid complicate changes in the region that is swarming with successive events and political reflections and chaos in some countries. He said his country is seeking to boost confidence and political relations with neighboring countries, primarily the State of Kuwait. The tour is of paramount significance as its agenda mainly includes issues and affairs pertinent to regional security and stability and trade, cultural and security cooperation between Iran and Kuwait, he added. He pointed to the political will of both countries' leaders to promote cooperation and create a safe and stable regional system based on non-interference in other countries' internal affairs, respect of their sovereignty and independence. His Highness the Amir's visit to Iran would open a new chapter of bilateral cooperation, bring favorable impacts on the present and future of the entire region and help in resolving several outstanding regional issues, Anayati noted. The visit, which comes in light of the current circumstances in the region, is a sign of deep-rooted relations between both Muslim neighbors, the Kuwaiti ambassador in Kuwait pointed out. He said Kuwait boasts of economic, trade and financial potential to become the gateway of Iran and central Asia to the Arab world.
