Tunisia's Oil Production Down to 59 thousand Barrels per Day


(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) Nis may 31 (qna) - tunisia’s oil production has declined to reach for the first time 59 thousand barrels per day from 115 thousand barrels since no exploration wells have been drilled over the last four months for failure of licensing or renewal of permits" said minister of industry energy and mines kamel bennaceur.



he said during a seminar on "the reality of the energy sector in tunisia and its economic and social consequences" that no decision was taken yet on the licenses submitted to the national constituent assembly (parliament) since about 6 months stressing the consequences of the decline in production on the tunisian economy since 10 thousand barrels per day provides annually about $ 300 million.
