Abe Criticizes China over Aircraft Incident


(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) Kyo may 29 (qna) - japan's prime minister shinzo abe criticized the incident on saturday in which chinese military aircraft flew unusually close to japanese self-defense force planes. he said the act was extremely dangerous.



in two separate incidents a chinese fighter jet came within 30 to 50 meters of the japanese aircraft in the airspace over the east china sea where the two countries' air defense identification zones overlap. the sdf planes had been patrolling the area.



abe told a lower house budget committee on wednesday that the incident was regrettable. he said it was an extremely dangerous act that could have lead to an accident japan's (nhk world) reported.

also on wednesday some members of the governing liberal democratic party adopted a resolution of protest against china's actions.



former chinese foreign minister tang jiaxuan criticized japan's response to the incident.

tang who is the chairman of the china-japan friendship association said china and russia had informed the whole world that they were holding joint drills in the area.

but he went on to say that japan and china should work together in good faith to create a framework for crisis management. (qna)
