Spanish home mortgages up 2 percent in March


(MENAFN) The National Institute of Statistics (INE) reported that the number of home mortgages in Spain granted to prospective buyers increased 2 percent in March compared to a year earlier, Xinhua reported. The average value of home mortgages stood at USD139,484, which meant a 0.4 percent increase on an annual basis. The amount of capital loaned stood at USD2.32 billion, a 7.7 percent increase. A total of 16,625 home mortgages were granted in March, which meant a 1.2 percent increase on a monthly basis, the INE said. The amount of capital loaned also increased by 1.2 percent from February "March period.
