(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) The 22nd General Conference of the Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALECSO) came to a close here Wednesday night with the adoption of the programs and activities of the organization for the coming two years.
The conferees approved a budget amounting to USD 25 million for FY 2015-2016, the plan for 2017-2011 and a suggestion for convening an extraordinary conference in Jordan next year to review the implementation of the activities of the organization.
They called on the national committees to organize activities in solidarity with the Palestinian people this year pursuant to the resolution of the UN General Assembly proclaiming 2014 the International Year of Solidarity with the Palestinian People.
They approved Kuwait's bid to host the 23rd session of the General Conference and the 105th session of the Executive Council of the organization, according to the final statement of the gathering.
