Cargo growth boosts 8.7 percent in Middle East in April, slower than expected

(MENAFN) Figures released by the International Air Transport Association (IATA) shows that the Middle East airlines posted slower cargo growth in April. However, the region's carriers still outperformed their global rivals, according to Arabian Business. The region's air cargo grew by 8.7 percent in April this year compared to the same month a year earlier. IATA said that the airlines capacity boosted by 8.1 percent while carriers are benefiting from the upswing in developed economies and increased volumes from emerging markets in Asia and Africa.
