Hollande Offers Putin to Hold Bilateral Meeting on DDay Celebrations


(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) Ussels may 28 (qna) - french president francois hollande offered russian counterpart vladimir putin to hold a bilateral meeting on the d-day celebrations in normandy on june 6 on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the western allied landing operation in world war two hollande said at a media briefing after the eu summit in the belgian capital on tuesday.

"i invited the russian president on june 6 and we intend to hold consultations including over current situation in ukraine" hollande said.



on may 24 president vladimir putin said he was prepared for contacts with foreign leaders during his trip to normandy. "if nothing changes by the host of the meeting the french president i will come for it" putin said at a meeting with chief executives of leading news agencies in st. petersburg. (qna)
