Qatar raises foreign ownership to 49% of Qatari firms


Sheik Tamim instructed all companies to raise their limit concerning foreign ownership to 49 percent, aiming to draw more liquidity to the buoyant bourse. Other citizens of GCC will have the same treatment as Qatari nationals, while all other foreigners are allowed to own up to 49 percent, Foreigners were only allowed to have 25 percent in listed Qatari companies. Shareholders had approved the increase to the limit on the amount foreigners can own last February,while Qatar main share index reached up to 29 percent on Monday.
