Cameron says Europe needs to change

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) British Prime Minister David Cameron Tuesday said Europe cannot ignore the results of the European Parliament elections, which showed the rise of anti-EU and extreme right-wing groups. "It is a very clear message. The EU cannot shrug off these results and carry on as before. We need change. We need an approach that recognizes that Europe should concentrate on what matters, on growth and jobs," he told journalists ahead of an informal meeting of EU leaders in Brussels this evening. "We need an approach that recognizes that Brussels has got too bossy, too big, too interfering. We need more for nation states," he said. "It should be the nation states wherever possible, Europe only when necessary and of course we need people running these organizations really understand that and can build a Europe that is for openness, competitiveness and flexibility, not about the past," added Cameron.
