France- Hollande calls for reorientation of Europe

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) French President Francois Hollande Tuesday said that the rise of the extreme right wing group in his country is not only a problem for France but for the whole of Europe. "The major demand is for more growth and more jobs, namely a reorientation of European construction. This is the message that was declared. I did not want 25 percent French to have voted for the extreme right but they did vote so," he told journalist ahead of an informal summit of EU leaders to discuss the results of the European Parliament elections. "Today I do not only want to plead about the next President of the European Commission, but the content of the mandate trusted to the next Commission. is because of this vote in France that I feel even more concerned, mobilized and involved in the reorientation of Europe," he said. "When there is a vote like the one we saw in France, a founding country of the EU, with one voter out of four supporting the extreme right and the National Front there is a problem. However this is not only a problem only for France, it is also a problem for Europe. Europe has to hear what happened in France and my role here is to continue what I have doing these two years, re-orientate Europe, but with more strength," he stressed. "If Europe does not respond in some years there will be more votes both in France and elsewhere against Europe," warned Hollande. "France was not weakened, France is a big country, it is the country that counts today along with Germany, it is the country without which Europe cannot move forward," he added.
