(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) Za may 27 (qna) - palestinian resistance movement hamas said tuesday that it agreed with rival fatah to name palestinian authority prime minister rami hamdallah as the head of the unity government.
in a statement hamas spokesman sami abu zuhri said that the understanding was reached following a session of talks between the two groups in gaza which wrapped up late monday.
describing the talks as "positive" abu zuhri said that the two groups agreed to see hamdallah as the prime minister of the new national unity government.
the two groups also agreed on a number of names to take on ministerial portfolios in the new cabinet as talks are due to continue on tuesday to finalize the government's formation he added. (qna)
