(MENAFN) The South Korean Transportation Ministry said it has order Ford automaker to recall 2,216 Escape sport utility vehicles (SUVs) due to defects in airbags, cooling systems and door handles, Xinhua reported. According to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, Ford Sales and Service Korea was ordered to recall 859 Escape models made between May 22, 2012 and Jan. 31, 2014 for faulty side airbags that may fail to be deployed on a software problem. A problem with the cooling system was detected in 424 Escape SUVs, produced between July 28, 2012 and March 1, 2013, as the defective cooling system can cause cracks in cylinder head and oil leakage.
