(MENAFN - Muscat Daily) An agreement to recover and manage the construction and demolition (C&D) waste generated from the demolition of approximately 9,500 houses for the Batinah coastal road project was signed on Monday between be'ah and the Ministry of Housing.
The agreement was signed by H E Saif al Shabibi, Minister of Housing and H E Eng Mohsin bin Mohammed al Sheikh, chairman of Muscat Municipality, chairman of be'ah board of directors, at the Ministry Housing in Al Khuwayr.
Eng Tariq bin Ali al Amri, chief executive officer of be'ah said, ''Within this agreement, be'ah will take over the management of the (C&D) waste generated from the demolition of all houses throughout the Batinah coastal road project as specified by specialists from the Ministry of Housing.''
Eng Amri further said, ''The significance of C&D waste management is recognised and crucial to conserve the environment of Oman.''<
