(MENAFN- The Peninsula) Qatar Business Incubation Center (QBIC) announced today 15 projects chosen to be 'incubated' and receive its support.
QBIC will provide the winning entrepreneurs with a range of support services such as office spaces and industrial workshops, as well as administrative, technical and financial assistance. It will provide an integrated service for entrepreneurs to ensure the success of their projects.
Abdulaziz bin Nasser Al Khalifa, QBIC Chairman and CEO of Qatar Development Bank, said: "We will offer 11 start-up projects with incubation services and office space for two years in addition to an initial conditional seed-funding worth QR100,000 while four scale-up projects will be offered our services for two years in addition to potential funding opportunities."
The winners of the QBIC include: "Barkom", an application for smart phones which assists consumers' purchasing decisions; "MoneyBuzz" for mobile payments solutions; "AR Next", an application of playing Tarneeb; "Embrace Qatar", a cultural consulting centre for Doha newcomers; "LEBES", which produces clothing for Muslim women. Also, "Shaikha" project which aims at producing natural perfumes; "Qatar Golf Ladies" provides the idea of offering mini-golf fields in public spaces; "Khaliji Startups", a portal to bring co-founders and entrepreneurs together; "Mada Innovation" that enables to effectively exchange documents electronically; "E Grab", an online shopping portal; "Q-CAB" that enables people order taxi services via mobiles; "Social Media Solution" that offers consultation and solution; "Nano technology" that allows event registrants; "Oryx lifestyle", produces German clothes made in Qatar; "Seero Engineering Consulting" the professional engineering company that provides designs and consultation services in the transportation field.
