Qatar- Vodafone showcases technologies

Vodafone displayed at the exhibition, the long awaited and latest telecommunication and IT packages in Qatar which has till now achieved by the international IT companies. Visitors to Vodafone Qatar stand will see the latest technology, smart applications in transportations, communication, healthcare, business and town planning. Sheikh Dr Khalid bin Thani bin Abdullah Al Thani, Chairman of Vodafone Qatar, welcomed H E Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani, Prime Minister and Interior Minister of Qatar, to the Vodafone Qatar pavilion. Vodafone's Smart Transportation area demonstrates how Vodafone is continuing strong ties and partnerships in the automotive industry. Vodafone has partnered with Alfardan Automobiles, the exclusive importers of BMW in Qatar, to introduce the first commercially fully-connected car with Internet in Qatar. With a BMW 6 Series Gran Coupe on display, Vodafone is showcasing BMW Apps connected by Vodafone. These include search find and explore apps including live Google services and connected weather apps, connected offices through BMW online applications. Music streaming and social media are also featured in the car. As Vodafone's fixed broadband offering expands, Vodafone is dedicated to improve the daily lives of people in Qatar in their homes as well as in their business environment. In the Vodafone Smart Home area, Vodafone demonstrates the latest advancements in Smart Home technology. On show is a smart living room that contains integrated technology around lighting, entertainment, security that are seamlessly integrated into a user-friendly tablet. Also on display is a range of state of the art smart accessories, which are also offered at Vodafone's Villaggio store. Healthcare is changing and mobile technologies are at the heart of this change. Vodafone's Smart Health area introduces the future of healthcare to its visitors and showcases solutions for diabetes management, cardiac monitoring and proactive care. For businesses, Vodafone, with an un-paralleled global footprint, is showing how it can help businesses in Qatar operate globally. The platform is designed to help citizens learn about how exciting new technologies can improve life in their city and create unique insights for government and enterprises by crowd-sourcing ideas, bringing the voice of citizens, helping them dream big, and make their mark on the future. The programme will run for over 1 year and will bring knowledge and input from global and local Smart City experts and will be included as part of Smart City events throughout the Country. The innovative website will aggregate all ideas submitted to the site and submitted via Twitter using the Hashtag #DesignYourQatar. The ideas can be commented on and supported via votes so that the top ideas are featured at the top. Users of the site can register and will earn points for contributing the top ideas and participating in the community. Music streaming and social media are also featured in the car. This car, in case of an accident, can be located easily because of the maps and other innovations. In healthcare, we are introducing the patients through their hospitals where they can be monitored at home from the hospital when the patient is using sophisticated devices. The third area, which is telecommunication, allows a car to be connected with other telecommunication devices through which its activity can be controlled.
