Germany's air passengers grow in Q1


(MENAFN) The German Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) said that air passengers in Germany grew moderately in the first quarter, as the country's is becoming one of world's leading aviation markets, Xinhua reported. Destatis data showed that during the first three months, 20.5 million passengers departed from German airports, 0.9 percent more than a year earlier. The Federal Statistical Office attributed the growth to domestic traffic, which increased 2.4 percent. Meanwhile, the number of passengers who flew to foreign countries edged up 0.4 percent. "Germany is the fifth largest aviation market in the world and will continue its upward trend," said Airbus Chief Operating Officer for Customer.
