France confirms one national died in Brussels shooting on Saturday

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius confirmed on Sunday that a French national was among the four victims in a shooting at the Jewish museum in Brussels the previous day. A lone gunman apparently entered the building and shot four people, three of whom died immediately and a fourth later in hospital. A French volunteer worker was among the victims, Fabius indicated in a statement. "I have learned with deep sadness of the death of a French (female) citizen in the shooting that took place yesterday at the Jewish museum in Brussels," the Foreign Minister said. "We know that everything will be done by the Belgian authorities to bring to justice those responsible for this odious act," he added. Fabius presented France's condolences to the victims' families, two of which were from Israel. Earlier while travelling in the French provinces, President Francois Hollande said he was convinced the shooting was "anti-Semitic and terrorist" in nature.
