HMS targets 25% growth in UAE

haider murad and sons or hms is targeting a 25 per cent growth in its uae operations for 2014 a top official says.

“our business operations in jordan have shown a two figure growth in the last two years thanks to the retail growth in our business; our uae operations have also shown growth in the last year” ali murad general manager of hms told 
khaleej times. “however our aim is to keep growing and our ambition is to achieve 25 per cent growth in 2014 in our uae operations. we have plans to focus on various projects to achieve our target.”

murad explained: “we have signed deals with hyper panda and union coop and we are working on signing other contracts with power retailers to sell our products. we are planning to add additional brands to our portfolio this year and we are also planning to expand our online presence by launching an online shopping portal for jordan and the gcc called leadersmall.com. this will allow customers to shop from the comfort of their home.”

the group which opened its first retail store in the uae in 2013 offers customers a full line up of worldwide major domestic appliances including: home appliances audio and visual products heating ventilation and air conditioning evaporator coolers water heaters and cooking wares.

speaking on the company’s recent participation at gitex shopper 2014 murad said: “gitex shopper is an exciting time for us as it gives us the chance to interact with our customers and get them to experience the wide range of products we are selling. it also allows us to shed light on our quick and devoted service. gitex is also an essential step for us to grow our customer base and interact with them to better understand their needs.”

murad also shed light on some of the company’s latest partnerships with privately-owned italian company candy which offers a wide range of different products such as washing machines dishwashers dryers fridges freezers cookers and ovens; and electronic beauty product company goblin.

“currently the response to these brands [candy and goblin] is amazing and people got to know them in a short time. we are in the process of negotiation for acquiring other new brands which are directly related to our industry and which we will again launch as we have done before with candy” he said.

when asked about the attractiveness of dubai as a market place for hms murad said: “the dubai market is one of the biggest and fastest-growing markets in the area where you can reach customers from different areas and other parts of the world. also dubai is full of opportunities and offers many ways to explore new businesses. not to be forgotten is the expo 2020 event which is one of the major business opportunities of the near future; as well as the organised system and regulations which are very attractive in dubai.”
