British GDP grows 0.8 percent in Q1


(MENAFN) According to the Office for National Statistics (ONS), the British gross domestic product (GDP) grew by 0.8 percent in the January-March period of 2014, Xinhua reported. The ONS said that Britain's GDP was higher by 3.1 percent in the first quarter of 2014 compared to the same period a year earlier, in which it was projected to have increased by 1.7 percent than that of 2012. Figures also showed that the trade balance deficit declined to USD6.91 billion in the cited period from USD7.08 billion in the fourth quarter of 2013.
