(MENAFN - Arab News) Riyadh: hyderabadi warrriors scored a thrilling nine-run win over sulaiman xi in the huraymala zone to enter the knockout stage of the saudi orix twenty20 cricket tournament organized by the riyadh cricket association here recently.

in the other matches of the same zone crescent and star xi scored identical four-wicket wins over riyadh fighters and akcc respectively to make the knockout stage.

warriors made first use of the wicket and put on board 178 runs. imroz top-scored with 75 runs. mohammed supported him with a well-made 51. mudassir and shakeel picked 2 wickets each. sulaiman xi were restricted to 169. imroz also performed well with the ball and picked 3 wickets while sami bagged 2 wickets.

the other match was a low-scoring encounter. riyadh fighters managed 114 runs. aziz (32) and nusrat (29) were the main scorers.

mubashir and mohsin bowled well and picked 4 wickets each. crescent achieved their target off 15.2 overs. faisal (31) moazam (28) and latafat (22) contributed to their victory. majid picked 3 wickets.

elsewhere akcc posted 207. thanks to sultan (64) kamran (37) nadeem (26) and shoukat (25). imtiaz and yassir shared 4 wickets.

star xi achieved the target after 18.2 overs. waseem steered his team to victory with a brilliant 105 runs. he was also ably supported b safdar (37) and amjad (31).

in the al kharj zone abdul waheed scored match winning 100 to help pak shaheen rout pakistan falcons by 88 runs.

other contributions came from abdul wahab (35) abdul salam (24) and faisal (23) in a total of 245 runs.

pakistan falcons managed 157 in reply. abuzar bowled excellently and picked 5 wickets while abdul waheed got 3.

in riyadh zone lahore badshah green got the better of lusine by 6 wickets. lusine scored 188 for 6. adeel (54) rustam (39) and kashif (24) did their best. zahideen and wasim picked 2 wickets each. lahore badshah green achieved their target after18.1 overs. afzal (58) zeeshan (39) zahideen (28) arman (26) and jahangir (22) were the main run getters. roshan bagged 2 wickets.

in another match of the same zone seham beat riyadh royals by 3 wickets. royals batted first and scored 198 runs. qasim (85) fakhar (43) and irshad (28) were the main contributors. majid picked 3 wickets while amir mudassir and tahir grabbed 2 wickets each. seham achieved their target off 18 overs. thanks to majid (54) noor (32) tahir (26) and amir (23). farman took 2 wickets.

nouman gymkhana beat grundfos by 43 runs. nouman gymkhana scored 202 for 3. aftab (104) amjad (57) and shehzad (23) made that total possible. grundfos in reply managed 159 for 7. imran picked 3 wickets.
