uae head coach mahdi ali has reportedly urged the players of the senior football national team to be careful as the nation was eagerly looking forward to seeing them shine in the upcoming afc asian cup australia 2015.

“there’s nothing easy in football and we have two crucial friendlies against armenia and georgia in the preliminary stage of the buildup to defend our gulf cup title and afc asian cup campaign and we are hopeful to make our first continental breakthrough” ali told the members of the squad before their thursday’s workout at the beginning of their european tour.

uae players arrived in the swiss city of everdon last tuesday and they will face armenia in the opener of their nine internationals at the stade de la fontenette on tuesday may 27.

the uae lads are preparing for the gulf cup (khaliji 22) in riyadh ksa from november 13 to 26 and the afc asian cup finals in australia from january 9 to 31 2014.

meanwhile the team’s manager mutrif al shamsi said everything is going well within the training camp and the players are committed to the programme which was tailored by the technical staff to fine tune the squad ahead of the upcoming commitments. “we are trying to move ahead of the schedule. the current tour which extends to june 3 provides good opportunity for the team’s elements to show the best of them with hard training and the two friendlies” he said.

al shamsi hailed the positive response of the players and the strong performance with their respective clubs during the season that helped them to prevail in the local season and the continental and regional tournaments.

“the management of the training camp is keen to utilise the fifa days by organising as many friendlies as possible in order to progress in the fifa ranking and play against varying football styles. all our friendlies are equally important and they will be strong enough to useful before khaliji 22 and the afc asian cup 2015” he added.

ali khusaif congratulated
