S. Korea's LCCs services up 20.7 percent on Int'l routes

(MENAFN) A report by South Korea's largest airport authority said that Low cost carriers (LCCs) in the country serviced 20.7 percent more people on international routes in the January-April period 2014 compared with 2013, QNA reported. According to the Incheon International Airport Corp. (IIAC), the number of people that used the country's main air terminal to go abroad increased 14.1 percent to USD14.05 million in the cited period. Of the total, 1.98 million used low cost carriers, including both local and foreign LCCs. The total pushed up market share of such airlines by 3.1 percent to 14.1 percent. "The drop for foreign LCCs is attributable to consumer complaints about inadequate in-flight service and problems with reservations," an official at the IIAC said.
