(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) The EU Wednesday welcomed the adoption of the Memorandum of Peace and Concord by the parliament of Ukraine.
"This Memorandum, supported by a bi-partisan majority, offers a good platform for concrete steps towards de-escalation of the situation, in particular by facilitating Ukrainian-led solutions adopted in unity," said an EU statement.
"It will also facilitate the adoption of important reforms in the coming months, including decentralisation and comprehensive constitutional reform," it noted.
"This is particularly significant in the run-up to Sunday's Presidential elections. We stand ready to provide support for the implementation of the Memorandum. We hope that all international partners, in particular those party to the Geneva 17 April Agreement will also contribute to its implementation," added the EU statement.
