Microsoft reveals its new Surface Pro 3 tablet
(MENAFN) Microsoft Corp. has revealed its new version of Surface Pro tablet, hoping that the company's skills in business software will help it beat Apple Inc. in mobile devices, Arab News reported.
The Surface Pro 3 tablet comes in three models, starting from USD799 and costing up to USD1,949 and features a 12-inch screen, much larger than Apple iPad's 9.7 inches. It also comes with access to Microsoft's Office software suite.
Microsoft executives made frequent comparisons with the MacBook Air at the launch, making it clear that Apple's lightest laptop, which starts at USD629 with a full cellular connection, was the device to beat.
"We are not building hardware for hardware's sake, we want to build experiences that bring together all the capabilities of our company," Microsoft's CEO said.
