Philippine economy to double next decade


(MENAFN) The US-based think-tank said that The Philippine economy is to more than double in the next ten years, driven by earnings from overseas workers and business outsourcing surge, Arab News reported. According to an Asia-Pacific chief economist for HIS, the economy will grow to USD680 billion by 2024from its present level of about USD280 billion, with a projected GDP of USD1.2 trillion by 2030. "The Philippine economy has the capacity for robust long-term economic growth of around 4.5 percent to 5.0 percent per year over the 2016 to 2030 time horizon," he added.
