South Korea's global trade ranks ninth in 2013

(MENAFN) Data showed that the ranking of South Korean trade economy, in regard to size, decreased for the first time in 2013 since the Asian financial crisis, attributed mainly to a fall in imports, QNA reported. According to WTO data provided by the Korea International Trade Organization (KITA), the country's imports and exports totaled USD1.08 trillion in 2013, ranking ninth among member countries of the World Trade Organization (WTO). According to the data, the fall in South Korea's ranking was mainly due to its drop in imports, which reached USD515.6 billion in 2013, down from USD519.6 billion in the previous year. It is noted that China topped the 2013 list, followed by the United States, Germany, Japan, France, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom and Hong Kong.
