(MENAFN - Muscat Daily) Kalabhavan School of Music and Arts, one of the licensed music schools in Oman and a franchisee of Kochin Kalabhavan, will be celebrating its annual dance festival Nritolsovam' on May 24 at Ghala Church Hall.
Kalabhavan has been conducting its annual dance festival in Oman consecutively for the past eight years. This is an exclusive event for our classical dance students from all the branches of Kalabhavan. Currently, Kalabhavan has three branches which are located in Ghubra, Al Hail and Ruwi. Dr J Retnakumar, chief executive officer of Lifeline Hospitals in Oman will be the chief guest.
Apart from the annual Dance Festival, Kalabhavan also conducts Thyagaraja Music Festival, an exclusive event for the vocal students and Fr Abel's Day “ as a tribute to its founder Fr Abel CMI “ for the students learning different musical instruments. Kalabhavan's Annual Day Celebration is a mega event where more than 150 students take part every year from all the branches. Therefore every student in the institution gets an equal opportunity to showcase his/her talent.
The very reason for organising such events is to provide opportunity for our students to perform publicly which we feel is important to build their confidence and to mould them as good artists. Kalabhavan School of Music conducts different courses in Oman such as Indian classical dance, cinematic dance, keyboard, guitar, violin, vocal music, tabala, mridangam, karate, tailoring, art and craft.
The event scheduled to be held on May 24 at 6pm is open to all. As usual, Kalabhavan will be holding a summer camp during the summer vacation of the Indian schools. The camp will be held from June 25 to July 24. Admission for the camp will begin from next week
