(MENAFN - Muscat Daily) A poster designed to create awareness on the dangers of texting while driving is making waves on social media. It has received around 2,000 likes on Instagram, followed by great response on Facebook.
The poster is divided into two parts - the first part shows a motorist busy texting while driving, whereas the second shows the blood-stained face of the same person after a crash.
Majid al Balushi, the Higher College of Technology (HCT) graduate who played a key role in conceptualising the poster said, ''The idea to design this poster came from a personal experience. My friend's brother always felt that he could multi-task while driving.
''He met with a serious accident as he was busy texting while driving. It took him almost two months to recover from the accident and trauma. Now, he is scared to drive.''
Balushi said that there are many young Omanis who don't understand the perils of the habit. ''It's those few seconds which might cost your life.''
Ali al Ajmi, an IT student at HCT who shot the photographs said, ''We are excited with the response on social media.''
