Vodafone's earnings dip 7.4 percent in FY 2013


(MENAFN) Vodafone Group said it posted a decline in its earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) in the fiscal year ending March 31, declining by 7.4 percent year-on-year to USD21.5 billion, Xinhua reported. The Britain-based mobile telecom carrier also registered a decline in its revenue by 1.9 percent, reaching USD73.4 billion in the financial year 2013-2014, said the group. Data showed that Vodafone posted an adjusted operating profit of USD13.3 billion, including USD5.38 billion from disposal of Version Wireless last September. "Our operational performance has been mixed. The Group's emerging markets businesses have performed strongly throughout the year," Chief Executive Officer of Vodafone said.
