Oman's Al Anwar approves capacity expansion plan


(MENAFN) Al Anwar Ceramic Tiles (AACT) approved an expansion plan to enhance its capacity by four million square meters per annum, while it is looking to use alternative energy option till the regular natural gas allotment from the government is obtained, Times of Oman reported. The company' net profit in the first quarter of 2014 grew marginally by 1 percent to USD5.75 million from USD5.69 million compared to the same period last year. The company's income was more or less same at USD18.59 million. The company's board of directors last year approved the proposal to set up a new joint venture in Oman to produce frit, which is a major component in tile glazing.
