(MENAFN) Pfizer Inc., the US-based pharmaceutical firm, announced that it is currently preparing a takeover attempt over the British rival AstraZeneca Plc, QNA reported. A bid of USD117 billion is the final offer, Pfizer said, after many previous offers had been rejected by AstraZeneca management, one of which was a USD106 billion offer. German News Agency (DPA) reported Pfizer chief executive as saying "we have tried repeatedly to engage in a constructive process with AstraZeneca."
