KIMS Oman Hospital celebrates Nurses Day


(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) As part of the International Nurses Day celebrations, nursing staff of KIMS Oman Hospital celebrated Nurses Day on May 9. 

Speaking on the occasion, V M A Hakkim, executive director, KIMS Oman Hospital said, ‘‘Nurses Day is celebrated to remember the immeasurable contributions nurses make to the society. At KIMS Oman, we appreciate all nurses as they are integral in the day-to-day functioning of our hospital. We are more than happy to celebrate this day as we recognise the tasks of nurses in helping us provide quality health care to our patients.'' In his address, Dr Srinivasababu Subramanian, medical superintendent at KIMS said, ‘‘Nurses sacrifice a lot, and strive hard, to give their best at all times.

Nursing and patient care are correlated, and it is the patience, commitment and dedication of nurses, which help patients recover fast.'' International Nurses Day is celebrated annually around the world to commemorate the birthday of Florence Nightingale, the founder of modern nursing and to celebrate nurses' commitment and motivation to nursing and patient care. Regardless of the size of a hospital, nurses play a major role in the lives of patients and their families. In patient care, nurses not only ensure continuous care to patients but also assist doctors in completing medical procedur
