Oman ammonia project contract to be awarded by 2015


(MENAFN) A major ammonia plant contract construction is expected to be awarded in the first half of 2015 in Salalah Free Zone, in the south of the Sultanate of Oman, Oman Observer reported. The downstream investment arm of Oman Oil Company SAOC, Takamul Investment Company, is leading the development of 1,000 metric tons per day (MTPD) capacity ammonia venture. A 6-7 hectare site close to Salalah Methanol Company has been kept for the construction of the ammonia project within the Salalah Free Zone. The facility will be built adjoining the existing methanol scheme of Salalah Methanol Company, which is 10 percent owned by Takamul.
