KIA, Hyundai sales in China up 10 percent in April

(MENAFN) South Korea's leading automaker, Hyundai Motor Co., and its smaller affiliate KIA Motors Corp. registered an increase of 10 percent in sales in China during the January-April period of 2014, QNA reported. Industry data showed that the rise is driven by rising demand for their small passenger cars and sport utility vehicles (SUVs). According to the data, the two South Korean automakers sold a combined 582,890 units in China in the first four months of the year, up 10.1 percent compared to a year earlier. It is noted that the automakers, Hyundai and Kia, ranked second in terms of sales in China in the period, following Volkswagen, which claimed more than a 20 percent market share.
