Imported cars sales in Philippine up 16 percent in April


(MENAFN) Local Filipino distributers said that the total imported vehicles sold in the country expanded by 16 percent in April compared to a year earlier, reaching 2,657 units, Xinhua reported. According to Figures released by the Association of Vehicle Importers and Distributors, Inc. (AVID), sales of light commercial vehicles helped boosting distributors' performance last month. The total number of imported light commercial vehicles sold in April increased by 28 percent to 1,412 units on year, while passenger car sales posted an increase last month, growing 5 percent to 1,245 units compared to year earlier. Imported vehicles sold in the January-April period reached 11,712 units, 14 percent higher compared to the same period of 2013, in which the total units sold reached 10,283.
