(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) The US is "deeply saddened" about a plane crash in Laos, which claimed the lives of Lao government officials and others on board the flight, State Department spokeswoman Jen Psaki said on Sunday.
"We extend our deepest condolences to the government of Laos," Psaki said in a statement. "Our thoughts and prayers are with the families of the victims and with all the people of Laos at this difficult time." Laos Defense Minister Douangchay Phichit and his wife were among those killed in the crash, which also is believed to claim the lives of 20 more Laotian officials.
